Some Insights About Life

Some Insights About Life

•

At a Neale Donald Walsh seminar, I heard these 15 points — insights about life. Attitudes that usually, for most of us (at least for me), are the opposite of what is written here. You may agree or disagree with these insights, but even just thinking about them may well open a new perspective, and life may appear different from how it is right now. It is entirely possible that it will be easier, more joyful, with fewer worries and complaints. And that is already good. 1. Death does not exist. What there is, is only transformation, a transition from one form to another. 2. Do not doubt — things will work out. Perhaps not in the way you have imagined, or the way you would like, but there will be a resolution. There always has been, and there will be this time too. 3. No one does anything that would not be consistent with their worldview. Each of us sees the world in our own way. Each of us has our own worldview. And each of our actions corresponds to our own worldview. I cannot know how another person should act, because I do not know their worldview. 4. No one does anything they do not want to do. It is impossible to force anyone. If a person does something, they want to do it. 5. No one needs your help and you do not need help from anyone. This does not mean that people cannot use each other’s help — they can. But it is not always needed. If help is not available, people usually manage on their own. 6. No one owes you anything and you do not owe anything to anyone. Because people do things because they want to, not because they have to. Including repaying (or not repaying) debts. If you choose to repay your debt, that is a choice — at the very moment you make it, and not because you were indebted. 7. Nothing matters. We ourselves are the only ones who assign meaning and importance. Things in themselves have no importance. The meaning of life is to choose what matters. But to life itself — nothing matters. 8. You do not have to do anything. Because nothing matters, and you are free to choose what you will do. Actions and choices have consequences, of course, but regardless — they do not require you to do anything. Or not do anything. 9. There is enough. Living from the opposite premise — “I lack” — is unfree, difficult, complicated. Not enough money, love, time, wisdom, connections, people, happiness. When you understand that there is enough, you will become free. 10. Life is not what it is not. Life is not a test, it is not a school. In life — life has nothing to learn or earn or prove. Everything you need has already been given to you. A child does not need to be taught to love or laugh — they already have all of that. Failure is not possible. You are simply realizing who you are. That is all. 11. Think before you speak. Before saying something, ask yourself: Is it true? Is it helpful? Is it inspiring? Is it necessary? Is it kind? If even one answer is “no” — perhaps it is better to stay silent? 12. Jokes about other people’s weaknesses, oddities, or transgressions are not funny. They hurt the person they are directed at. Think before you joke, too. 13. Do not make a mountain out of a molehill. Things are what they are. Nothing is as bad as it looks. 14. There is no need to fix everything around you that is not in order — even if you can. Let go. Live your own life and let others live theirs! Your path is not necessarily the better path. It is simply a different path. 15. Life is meant to be happy and death — joyful.
