Psycho-Organic Analysis

Psycho-Organic Analysis

•

Psycho-Organic Analysis (POA) originated relatively recently — in the 1970s. Its founder is Paul Boyesen. The main driving force was to overcome the limitations that appear in individual therapy schools by combining the best of what they offer. Thus, classical psychoanalytic concepts (the unconscious, dreams, transference, libido, taboo, and others) were combined with the organic (bodily) — breathing, touch, energy flow, and so on. This combination is not merely mechanical; over time, a corresponding theoretical and philosophical foundation has been developed for it. You can read more about psycho-organic analysis here.
